If you take a look at the pictures, you will notice that her clients come in ALL shapes, sizes, and age groups. Deanna offers great advice and modifications to ensure that everyone is consistently engaged and working at their maxI'm a Lifer!! Deanna and her team at DCFito are not only committed to health and well being, they have a contagious passion for life. I've worked with a lot of other trainers who typically make up a work out on the fly. She and her team take their profession very seriously and carefully plan each workout well in advance. I workout in the morning boot camp 5 times a week and no session is ever the same; D is careful to target specific muscle groups to ensure rest between workouts.
BONUS -- Deanna keeps in regular contact via social media, email, or texts between session to continually encourage and keep us motivated. All in all, Deanna is an inspiration and DCFito is the best part of my dav. Coach D has managed to work around my injury and my love of beer and good times. I leave each workout with my shirt drenched in sweat, feeling stronger than I did when I walked in.I've worked out with Coach D for over five years and simply put, she is the best trainer I have ever had. A little back story, I'm 45 and have been consistently working out for most of my life. When I was 30 I lost about 35 pounds on a combination of Weight Watchers and running. I maintained that loss for years, until I was injured doing bench burpies with another trainer. This injury sounded super innocuous, sore toes, oh big deal, but it made a huge difference because I could no longer run...My toes are healing, I'm getting back into the running slowly and just completed the Army 10 miler. There are days when I think, "I can't, I absolutely cannot work out today" and I meet up with Coach D and five minutes into the workout I'm feeling better. For me it isn't about the weight, it's about being strong and balanced. I never have thoughts like, "well, I can't move that...I can't do that.." because I know Coach D has given me the strength to do anything I set my mind to. It's about working out hard and smart and making the most of my workout minutes. She will tailor a workout plan that worn: for you, work around your injuries if you have them and make you a workout warrior. You should start working out with DC Fit 10, but if you try to take my appointment time I will have to kick your @%&!

It is always a tough workout, but the wide breadth of exercises we do, coupled with Coach Cordova's expertise and alert supervision, have helped me get more holistically stronger, and more fitAfter turning 50 several years ago, and suffering through a variety of "overuse" injuries--likely caused by many years of running-- I started training with Coach Cordova--a dynamic, fun and extremely experienced trainer...am especially grateful for her help in keeping me strong as I prepared for and recovered from knee surgery this summer. There is no question in my mind that it was the very targeted exercises she designed for me that not only paved the way for a successful surgery, but an unusually speedy recovery as well. I will definitely keep

Deanna has a positive, motivating style and approach to her work. She doesn't work around your weaknesses. She faces them head on showing you measurable results of the work yeu have accomplished. It is a pleasure for me to recommend Deanna Cordova as a personal trainer, coach, health and healing professional.
I am a 68 year old women with a diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease. I struggle dally with the symptoms and side effect of the disease. I was not one for exercise. I was very physically active as a young person but as I aged had not added a replacement for that activity. I became more sedentary in life. When I got my diagnosis in 2008 I had to change all that. I have experienced quite a few personal trainers, physical therapist and other health professionals over the last 7 years. I have been training with Deanna for 6 months now and experience a wealth of advantages for doing so. Deanna is not your traditional trainer. You won't find her checking her email or watching youtube while you suffer through you second rep of push-ups. She is very dedicated to train and/or heal her clients. She does not treat her clients like wounded patients. She sees them as potential warriors for their own health. Deanna educates her self to the needs of her clients. She doesn't hesitate to spend the evening on the internet researching new information about Parkinson's or other problems and what physical activities are best to someone with that diagnosis or problem. Deanna is not for the exercise sycophants. She requires a self commitment from her clients and encourages, suppors and motivated them to do so. Parkinson's is a progressive and degenerative disease. I can say unequivocally that my strength, motivation and general health has improved drastically since I met Deanna and changed trainers. She is one of the most positive things I have invested myself in. My Parkinson's symptoms continue stay on the base line and don't progress. With the help of Deanna my symptoms have not progressed and I have experienced very little degeneration. I couldn't recommend Deanna Cordova more highly. - Cheryl, Personal Training Client - Training with Coach Cordova since February 2015 |
DC Fit 10 proves that exercise and fun go hand in handDC Fit 10 provides a great, personalized workout no matter what your starting level may be. Deanna is not only incredibly knowledgeable and skilled but she's also a delight to work with (even, or perhaps especially, when she pushes you to your limits). She expertly walks the line between professional and fun. No two workouts are ever the same which keeps each session fresh and interesting. I would highly recommend DC Fit 10 to anyone looking for an affordable workout option that will keep you motivated and excited about your exercise goals.

She (Deanna) gives me just the right amount of tough love" to get me through a workout and can adjust in the moment to your needs - I have some knee and wrist issues that D always makes sure to ask about and we modify as neededDeanna (D) and her DC Fit 10 crew are among the best trainers I've ever come across and I've had a lot over the years. As I forge through my weight loss - fitness goals -ups & downs - and just life in general, D and her crew have become a common denominator who help steer me in the right direction, bring me back down to earth, or just make me laugh. The workouts are challenging and D really knows what she's doing. The workouts are always different - a mix of cardio, strength, HIIT - a true total body workout. D is extremely knowledgable and is always willing to answer my questions and explain why we're doing what we're doing. She is constantly learning about the latest happenings in her field and does the workouts herself to try them out.…I've always been told by D and her crew that they won't make us do something that they wouldn't do themselves or that they didn't think we could truly accomplish. This mantra is hard to come by in trainers and I really appreciate how honest and open the DC Fit 10 crew is. Whether the session is one-on-one or small group training, I always feel like D is attentive and making sure my form is correct. Everyone that works out with DC Fit 10 is great. When you join a group for a
workout everyone is super friendly, inclusive, encouraging, and supportive! To be honest this is probably the best I've felt in a long time. I have a lot of energy - I look forward to working out in the mornings (most days ;) ). I feel strong and confident that I'm working towards being the best me I can be. A few weeks ago I went to what people kept telling me was the hardest class at another gym and I totally held my own in the class and felt pretty awesome afterward. D and her crew have a lot to do with this and I'm very happy to be a part of the DC Fit 10 Family. D has all sorts of fitness equipment that keep me on my toes! I use the app to schedule out my small group training sessions. Once I sign up it populates my google calendar and sends me reminders. I haven't had a problem finding a time that works with my schedule. DC Fit 10 is very flexible and accommodating. I highly recommend DC Fit 10!! - Maureen, Virtual Training Client - Training with Coach Cordova since September 2014 |
You inspire trust and confidence, a lot, you really know what you are doing....You are one of the most professional people I have ever met. I mean in my entire life, including my work life.
You really really know your stuff. you keep up with the latest developments in your field and know what makes sense and what’s silly. You are committed to bringing variety to our workouts…it prevents you from getting bored and us too. You keep people engaged but you absolutely convey that at the end of the day, it’s each person’s own life and own responsibility – you don’t take that on. You are dependable, maybe that’s related to professionalism. You meet people where they are... - Katie, Personal Training Client - Training with Coach Cordova since September 2010 |
YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF THE PHYSICS OF THE HUMAN BODY IS ASTOUNDING, AND IT MAKES ME INCREASINGLY CONFIDENT OF YOUR ADVICE...Straight forward and direct, playful, but not in a way that wastes time or takes away from the coaching. You seem to take people for who/where they are without judging, which makes for a great place to begin the process of physical improvement. Your ability to adapt the workouts despite limitations and peculiarities of the individual is fabulous. I think some would be hard pressed to be adaptive, particularly if there are more than one or two limitations, or when there are big physical limitations, but that doesn't seem to give you any difficulty. You are always encouraging, but don't just let things that aren't right (like form) slide, even when it might be "nicer" to the client. I love your mix of encouragement but high expectations, That's a difficult balance, particularly when you depend on your clients' good will to continue... And in addition, I've been pleased that you grasp so much of the emotional fitness component of health and physical improvement.
